About gamut inc

The interdisciplinary ensemble gamut inc led by composers Marion Wörle and Maciej Śledziecki is dedicated to innovative music theatre and machine music. The thematic focus of their work is the critical use of technology. Since 2013, gamut inc has been performing internationally with organs and self-built robots and curating concert and festival formats. Their work also includes numerous compositions for film and theatre. Since 2019, they have curated the AGGREGATE Festival in Berlin, which is dedicated to computer-controlled pipe organs. The festival takes place in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the Auenkirche and the Chapel of Reconciliation in Berlin. gamut inc works with a wide variety of artists on a project-related basis. With
ZEROTH LAW, they completed their human-machine music theatre trilogy at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2023, in collaboration with the RIAS Chamber Choir and the Logos Robot Orchestra. The ensemble has received commissions and invitations to international festivals such as CTM, SONIC ACTS, Sónar, New Music Gdansk, Numusic Stavanger, Vancouver New Music, Acht Brücken Festival Cologne and Orgelpark Amsterdam. Their organ installation AGGREGAT #10, commissioned by the Sónar Festival, was premiered in 2022 and subsequently acquired for the permanent collection of the Palau Güell in Barcelona. They have received numerous scholarships, including the RELOAD scholarship from the German Federal Cultural Foundation, the Villa Kamogawa Scholarship from the Goethe Institute in Kyoto and the Arbeitsstipendium Neue Musik Berlin. In 2024, they travelled to organs in Canada as part of a Global Scholarship and subsequently received a one-year grant from the Musikfonds to research the use of artificial intelligence in contemporary organ composition.
