Three 18th-Century Sonatas

This edition, part of the Faber Concert Repertoire Series, contains three sonatas for cello from the 18th century composers Bernardo Porta, Giuseppe Chinzer and Jean-Baptiste Breval. Each sonata is of moderate technical ability, offering an important introduction to the literature of a period that saw a great flowering in the cello’s development. Alongside suggested ornamentation for cello, the keyboard accompaniment has been kept deliberately simple.
