Sonata No. 2

While Zyman’s first viola sonata is an adaptation of his earlier cello sonata, the second is a viola sonata through and through. Neo-romantic in its expansive three movement structure and expressive content, the music is inflected with the composer’s familiar and well-loved rhythmic twists, delightful and beguiling for performers and listeners alike.
