Description

Gabriel Fauré's Requiem is undoubtedly one of the most important works of its kind. The internationally acclaimed Bulgarian pianist and composer Emile Naoumoff, a student of Nadia Boulanger, wrote this transcription in 1999. Virtuosity here means making full use of the piano's tonal culture. A rich spectrum of colours, an elegiac timbre, but also the absence of theatrical effects characterise Fauré's original as well as the transcription by his ‘grand-pupil’ Naoumoff.
