Adriana Songs was commissioned by the Auftakt Festival, Alte Oper Frankfurt, the New York Philharmonic, Lorin Maazel,Musical Director and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI.

It was first performed on 17th September 2006, with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie conducted by Marc Albrecht and Patricia Bardon, mezzo soprano.
