Ubi caritas et amor
Product Details
Description
This work by Kim André Arnesen (one of Norway’s most performed contemporary composers) was commissioned by the Athens Master Chorale, Georgia, USA for the 50th anniversary of their founder and conductor, Joseph S Napoli.
A frequently set Latin text (‘Where charity and love are, God is there’), Arnesen’s unique and original setting combines the composer’s characteristic flowing melodies and rich harmonies to create a deeply expressive and heartfelt work.
As the composer himself explains, "in a world with a lot of tension and disunity I wanted to write a piece that sings about the commandments to love one another", and this music will certainly move both audience and singers. Suitable for intermediate choirs for church or concert use.
Also available for mixed voices (BH 13412).More Information
