Well-established teaching pieces by leading 19th Century composer-guitarists Carcassi and Giuliani are presented alongside more rarely available works by José Ferrer and Johann Kaspar Mertz. Also included are carefully selected transcriptions of works by Schumann and Johann Strauss. 
Composer biographies and extensive teaching notes on each piece are included together with a CD recording of all of the works in the anthology, performed by Jens Franke.
