Description

Alwin Michael Schronen again proves his great versatility as a (choral) composer with Reh-im-Park-Blues for men's choir or mixed a cappella choir. Using swing and blues elements, 'babbabbadada', 'daduahuhah' and other vocalises adding a jazz drive to the work, 'swinging shake eggs' ad libitum, and even a wine glass (or, as an alternative, a triangle), as well as stage directions like snapping the fingers, whispering, exhaling, inhaling, kissing, and 'asking for silence with the index finger', he has created an entertaining and extremely amusing choral piece. It reflects, with much wit and charm, the humorous content of Ringelnatz's poem about a little deer which eventually turns out to be a plaster figure. A piece of music that is perfect for performances at convivial gatherings and lives on many small but nice show acts.
