Description
Composer's note:

"Raw Power was inspired by the proto-punk music of Iggy (Pop) and the Stooges, epitomised by his 1973 record of the same name. The work explores the heaviness, clangor and joyous honk found in Pop's music - which, at least in the world of chamber music, can only be delivered by a sax quartet - as well as the fascinating dichotomy of Pop's persona, which is like a well-mixed cocktail of one part dork and two parts danger. He's lke the coolest, sexiest geek you'll never meet, and I wanted to try to somehow capture this confused energy in my composition."
