About Mikhail Davydov

In 1995 the Russian bass-baritone Mikhail Davydov completed his studies of conducting and choral music at the State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and continued his education in the vocal department. In 2000 Mikhail Davidov was invited to the Helikon Opera in Moscow where he performed the roles of, among others Lindorf (“Les contes d’Hoffmann”, Offenbach), Escamillo (“Carmen”, Bizet), Guglielmo (“Cosí fan tutte”, Mozart), the Count (“Le nozze di Figaro”, Mozart), Dr. Schön (“Lulu”, Berg), Ford and Falstaff (“Falstaff”, Verdi), Onegin (“Eugene Onegin”, Tchaikovsky). Mikhail Davydov has performed at international festivals such as the Moscow International Theater Olympics (“Vision of Lear”), the international White Nights festival in Saint Petersburg (“Czar Demian”), the December Nights of Sviatoslav Richter festival and at the Moscow Bach Festival in 2000. The singer has performed as a guest in Russia, Canada, England, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Israel, Lebanon, Japan, China, and Korea. He has received numerous international prizes, for example, in the Concurso Internacional de Canto Francisco Viñas (Barcelona, 2001), in the Hans Gabor Belvedere Gesangswettbewerb (Vienna), and the Elena Obraztsowa Competition (2000 and 2001).
