About Gudrun Heyens

Gudrun Heyens wurde 1950 in Ratingen geboren. Sie studierte Blockflöte und Violine an der Musikhochschule Köln bei Günther Höller und Franz-Josef Maier.

Von 1973 bis 1981 war sie Blockflötistin bei „musica antiqua Köln“ und von 1984 bis 2002 Mitglied des„Marais-Consort“. Neben einer umfangreichen internationalen Konzerttätigkeit wirkte Gudrun Heyens bei zahlreichen Rundfunkaufnahmen und CD-Einspielungen mit. Für die Einspielung „Concerti per flauto“ erhielt sie den Deutschen Schallplattenpreis.

Seit 1985 lehrt Gudrun Heyens als Professorin für Blockflöte an der Folkwang-Hochschule, deren Prorektorin sie seit 2003 ist. Darüber hinaus veranstaltet sie Workshops u.a. in Taiwan, Großbritannien, den Niederlanden, Estland und Deutschland. 2003 erhielt sie den Musikpädagogikpreis der Stadt Duisburg für die Musikpädagogische Förderung junger Menschen.
